Robyn Rihanna Fenty Mini Bio:

Rihanna is a Barbadian singer, model, and former beauty queen.  Rihanna was born in Saint Michael, Barbados on February 20, 1998 to Ronald and Monica Fenty. She is the cultural ambassador for Barbados and the first Barbadian artist to ever win a Grammy Award for her work. 

During her growing up years Rihanna attended a primary school in Barbados called Charles F. Broome Memorial School, and Combermere School.  It was in Combermere where Rihanna got together with two of her classmates at 15 years old to form a singing trio.  She also won the Miss Combermere Beauty Pageant in 2004.

Rihanna was ultimately discovered by record producer Evan Rogers when he visited Barbados in 2003 on a holiday vacation trip. He helped her record demo tracks which ultimately ended up with Jay-Z who is head of Def Jam Records.  Jay-Z was impressed with her talent and allegedly he instantly signed Rihanna to a multi-album contract.

Since signing up with Def Jam records Rihanna has attained multiple Billboard Hot 100 number ones in her career including those for her songs SOS, Umbrella, Disturbia, Take a Bow, and T.I’s Live Your Life.  Rihanna’s debuting album  Music of the Sun was released in 2005.  Rihanna’s first number one single titled A Girl Like Me was attained less than a year after her debuting album.
