Tupac Shakur
Videos, pictures, lyrics, discography, & more...
Artist Mini Bio:
Tupac Shakur was an American rapper, songwriter, actor, poet, record producer, and screenwriter. You may also know him as strictly 2Pac or Makaveli. He was a top selling recording artist, promising actor and even a social activist.
Typical Tupac songs were about growing up in violent times on the streets of the ghetto, racism, society flaws and so called beefs with other rappers. His work is well known for advocating racial, political, social and economic equality, and for his accurate depictions of drug and alcohol usage, and violence.
In his early career Tupac Shakur was a roadie and backup dancer for hip hop group Digital Underground. After going solo 2Pac’s debuting album 2Pacalypse Now gained a lot of critical viewpoints because of its controversial lyrics.
During the midst of Tupac’s successful but short career he’s experienced a lot legal problems and was even shot five times and robbed in a lobby of a recording studio in New York City.
Tupac survived this incident but had suspicions that other rap industry figures knew of the incident prior to it happening but did not warn him. This helped kick off the so called East Coast/WestCoast hip hop rivalry.
On September 7, 1996 Tupac was shot again four times in a drive by shooting incident in Las Vegas and later died six days later from his injuries.
